The Del Mar Development Champions Cup was held in Los Cabos from March 18-22, 2009. Palmilla Tennis Club was the host for this great event. World-ranking figures and hall of famers like Pat Rafter, Jim Courier, Mats Wilander and Pete Sampras participated in the cup along with Mexican former no. 1 players like Leonardo Lavalle (former captain of the Mexican Davis Cup Team), Jorge Lazano, and Luis Herrera. Del Mar Development Champions Cup was the first event of its kind to be held in the Los Cabos area, offering world-class tennis along with food vendors, a silent auction and local businesses supporting the Los Cabos Children's Foundation.

The net proceeds from this event will go to the Los Cabos Children's Foundation to fulfill our mission and reach our goal of treating children with cancer locally.

The event was recorded and aired during the US Open in September. Some of the local children participated in a kid's clinic given by the players interacting with Jim Courier, Pat rafter or Leonardo Lavalle, getting some advice from the pros.

Del Mar Development Champions Cup was a total success in bringing grand events to Cabo as well as lending a hand to those in need.
