XV National and International Congress for Pediatric Oncology-Hematology
LCCF attended the XV National and International Congress for Pediatric Oncology-Hematology (AMOHP). For the first time in its history, a handful of non-government organizations were invited to attend and share in the 2009 congress. The theme of the congress was "Cancer in children is curable."
LCCF has been working hand in hand for the last two years with the Pediatric Hospital of Sinaloa and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to save the lives of children with cancer. It is for this reason that LCCF was well received and well respected at the congress for Pediatric Oncology-Hematology.
Amy & Vince's Spirit of Joy
Los Cabos Children's Foundation and Amigos de Los Niños A.C. share the Spirit of Joy Cancer Project, which is currently treating 30 children suffering from different types of cancer. The Pediatric Hospital of Sinaloa and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital have been working hand in hand with LCCF to save lives of children for the past two years.
The Spirit of Joy cancer project is more than just a treatment. It is a journey filled with care and compassion by the families, patients, doctors and donors. The families staying at Casa Valentina and Casa de Carlitos receive love and support as their children courageously fight their battle against cancer. However, it is the goal of LCCF to further support and provide the same first-class level of treatment for these children in their home state of southern Baja.
It is through the generosity of donors, the commitment of the local medical community and the courage of our young patients that LCCF received approval in spring of 2009 to develop the first-ever pediatric oncology programs in the southern Baja. Together we are raising the level of health care for all children while "changing the world one child at a time."
